no c: drive after 'wipe and erase'

Decided to do a clean install of windows using Sony restore disks.

Chose the 'Wipe and Erase' option. now dont have any c: partition on hard drive.

Wont let me restore as cant find c:drive. tried everything i can think of to no avail.

Any help would be gratefuly recieved.

    You must have two hard drives, because I don't see how the computer could be running off of the C: drive if it's not being recognized as a formatted drive. Your windows OS must be on a seperate hard drive, that's pretty much the only way your computer could be running right now.

    Hi ivancia1605,

     

    Assuming that the hard drive is recognised in the BIOS (tap F2 at boot to access BIOS) have you tried reformatting the drive and assigning a drive letter prior to recovery using the restore disks?

     

    You will need either a third party utility, a retail copy of Windows, or a Windows recovery disk to do this.

    Hi ivancia1605,

     

     

     

    I hope this isn’t too late but here are the instructions for recovery.

     

     

     

    Boot from recovery disks.

     

     

     

    Select the option to do the complete system recovery from the main menu, at the next screen there will be 2 options, 1 about running the diagnostics and another to completely restore the C drive, don’t select either of these but in the bottom corner you will see a check box to skip, select skip and on the next screen you will get the warning saying all data will be lost etc.

     

     

     

    Check I understand and continue from there. Then the restoration will start.
