Leider ist der VG-C4EM in Verbindung mit der Sony Alpha 7IV in keinster Form verwendbar. Wie auf dem Foto ersichtlich lässt sich der Griff nur mit einem erheblichen Spaltmaß am Gehäuse montieren - was dazu führt das keine stabile Verbindung zwischen Kamera und Handgriff hergestellt werden kann! Der Griff wackelt nach der Montage so stark, das Langzeitaufnahmen unmöglich werden. Der gleiche Griff an einer Sony Alpha 7RIV weißt kein Spaltmaß und kein Wackeln auf. Der Service, Support und extrem unfreundliche Service der Firma Sony (Geissler) verweißt darauf, dass es sich um Toleranzmaße handeln würde. Davon ausgehend kann man vom Kauf der Kamera, sowie des Handgriffs nur abraten.

As the title says but, it doesn't fit very well, there is a visible gap between the body and the grip which you can see through. I have tightened the screw as much as I can - which is quite a lot - pressed down when I tighten the screw but it's still there and I get some slight movement when I hold the grip vertically. My Nikon grips fitted much more snuggly and firmly?? I hope this doesn't affect the weather sealiing!

Great Vertical Grip

Recently added this grip to my new A7IV and what a difference its makes to the feel and balance of the camera when using a long telephoto lens like the 200-600mm. The extra battery will give all day shooting great in the winter when the temperature is low and battery life is vital.

Purchased this grip for my Sony A7 iv. I originally had a non-Sony one which although worked well wasn't man enough when it came to using a tripod as I specifically bought the A7 iv with video in mind. Great piece of kit- I wouldn't be without it.

Bought the battery grip to accompany my new Sony A1 caers along with 200-600mm g lens and 400mm. The grip is a must for large lenses and aids balance perfectly. The build quality is almost the same as the camera and contours are perfect plus enabling longer battery time as the use of two batteries proling times between charges.

While in the vertical position the shutter button does not focus. In that position, focus can only be done using back button focus. Sony Pro Support says not serviceable. I have lived with the issue but not sure if it is designed to work this way, so another one may perform differently.

…leider noch teurer als das Vorgängermodell zu meiner Alpha 7R2. Und dass Sony weder ein vernünftiges Ladegerät für die Akkus noch zumindest einen zweiten Akku zum Griff spendiert ist traurig. Eigentlich mit dem Produkt alles richtig gemacht und dann durch sparen am falschen Ende den geschätzten Kunden schnell noch in die Zubehörliste gelotst. Bei diesem UVP sehr dreist. Schade.

Durch den Griff besteht die Möglichkeit Große Objektive an der Kamera besser zu handeln. Wenn man alles etwas kleiner haben will Könner sehr abgemacht werden. Eine gute Lösung. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut.

Das weiter verbesserte Handling und die doppelte Akku-Laufzeit sind für mich eine deutliche Aufwertung meiner Traum-Kamera.Nicht ganz günstig, aber ich wollte in der Qualität keine Abstriche machen - bei der Kamera wollte ich das auch nicht.

Ein Batteriegriff bietet viele Vorteile. Man hat mehr Akku-Kapazität zur Verfügung, die Kamera wird stabilisiert und man kann so das Gegengewicht von schweren Objektiven besser ausgleichen, da sich die Balance verbessert. Die Kamera lässt sich auch besser tragen. Einziger Nachteil ist, dass die Kamera dadurch insgesamt schwerer wird.

It's a very comfortable and functional grip, has all necessary dials and buttons replicated for the portrait orientation. Would be nice if a hot swap for the batteries was also implemented (like on the Nikon MB-N10) so that each battery has its own door and can be replaced independently from another battery

Tolle Erweiterung!

Da ich viel im Portraitbereich schiesse, und für Hochformataufnahmen den Auslöser an dieser Stelle liebe und schätze, habe ich ihn beim Umstieg auf SONY gleich mitgekauft. Da sind alle Knöpfe am richtigen Platz und manchmal ist schnelles Reagieren ja von Vorteil. Der Sitz ist schön fest, die Verarbeitung super. Man kommt schön schnell von der Seite an den Akku, bzw. kann sogar zwei reinpacken. Der "Batteriehalter" im Inneren wirkt etwas dünn und nicht so stabil - doch er ist ja auch keiner Belastung ausgesetzt und dafür superleicht (ohne die Akkus ;-)). Der Preis ist recht hoch, die Cashback-Aktion auf das Gehäuse hat mir die Entscheidung leicht gemacht. Und natürlich macht die Kamera mit der Gesamtgröße beim Kunden mehr her!
