    Warning!

    If your navigation system model is not in the target device list below, DO NOT UPDATE!

    If you try to update a model that is not in the target device list, it can be damaged and an OUT OF WARRANTY repair will be necessary.

    • NV-U50/U50T/U70T Personal Navigation System with software version 1.0 or 1.01 or 1.02 or 1.03 or 1.04.

    About this software update

    • Software update version 1.05 (released on 2nd June 2006):

      This update replaces software version 1.01, 1.02, 1.03 and 1.04 and improves the following product functionality:
      • For Personal Navigation Devices with Spanish setup, the management of TMC data is improved.

    • Software update version 1.04 (released on 8th May 2006):

      This update replaces software version 1.01, 1.02 and 1.03 and improves the following product functionality:
      • In certain regions, TMC information may not be displayed correctly.

    • Software update version 1.03 (released on 31st March 2006):

      This update replaces software version 1.01 and 1.02 and improves the following product functionality:
      • Under certain circumstances, an error message may appear after receiving TMC information.
    • Software update version 1.02 (released on 10th March 2006):

      This update replaces software update version 1.01 and improves the following product functionality:
      • Prevents occasional slow functionality under the circumstance of switching from Menu to map or additional signpost display, when Map Style and Brightness are set to Auto.
      • The management of TMC data is improved.
    • Software update version 1.01 (released on 27th January 2006): The accuracy of the guidance to places saved in My Favourites and in Recent destinations is improved.

      • Ensure all Windows Update patches and upgrades are applied before installing the update.

    Hardware Requirements

    • USB port
    • CPU at 150MHz or above

    1. Check the version of your Personal Navigation System.


      • Turn your Personal Navigation System ON and touch Agree.
      • Touch the display to enter the top menu.
      • Touch Settings, and then scroll down and touch Product Information. The Product information display appears.

      • If the software version is 1.0 or 1.01 or 1.02 or 1.03 or 1.04, please update with the latest version.


    2. Download the software update to your PC.


      • Ensure all Windows Update patches and upgrades are applied before installing the update
      • You must be logged on as an administrator (for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP).
      • Create the following folder on the C drive: nav_update.
      • Make sure that no program is running except your Internet browser.
      • You must accept the terms of the End User License Agreement below. Then, click Prenesi. A window will pop up. Click the Download it link.
      • Click Save and select the following location: C:\nav_update.
      • When the download is complete, check that the file is correctly downloaded: Update.exe (size is 1.22 MB (1,283,015 bytes))- If it is different, delete the file and download it again.


    3. Update your Personal Navigation System.


      • Close all running programs
        • .
      • Connect your Personal Navigation System to the power supply with the supplied AC adapter.
      • Connect your Personal Navigation System to your computer using the supplied USB cable and turn your Personal Navigation System on and wait until your computer has detected your Personal Navigation System.


        • NOTE: Make sure that you have installed Microsoft ActiveSync from the CD-ROM or the DVD-ROM that was supplied with your Personal Navigation System. If you have problems connecting your Personal Navigation System, please visit the Microsoft support website.

      • Make sure that you do not:


        • Disconnect the USB cable or the AC adapter during the process.
        • Turn off the Personal Navigation System, enter into standby mode, or reset the unit.
        • Shut down the computer, enter the computer into standby mode or restart the computer.

      • Open the folder containing the downloaded file by selecting Start on the taskbar, and then selecting Run on the menu.

      • Enter c:\nav_update\update.exe and click OK.
      • The update process will start automatically.

      • When the update is completed, the following message appears:

      • Click OK and disconnect your Personal Navigation System from your PC.


      • Check that the version is correctly updated:


        • Touch the display to enter the top menu.
        • Touch Settings, and then scroll down and touch Product Information. The Product information display appears.

          • The software version should be 1.05.

        • Your Personal Navigation System is correctly updated.
